December 2011 Newsletter
Tis the season... JESUS is the Reason!!
The month of November has been a very busy month! I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends. Each year, I visit my home church in Alabama where I was saved (Tanner Williams Assembly of God) the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Both services were wonderful! My home church has supported me since I was a missionary, and I really appreciate them.
We also had a powerful time of ministry at Iglesia Alfa Y Omega in Garland, TX. The power of God really came down, and it even arrested a Jehovah’s Witness! This lady accidentally came to the wrong church (Jehovah’s Witness was next door), and the Pastor’s wife pulled her in and got her to stay for the service. Needless to say, by the end of the service she was saved, hit by the power of God and weeping! It was amazing to see how God totally transformed her and allowed her to enter the wrong building.
Trisha and I also had the privilege of ministering again in St. Elmo, IL with Pastors Jakob and Leah Barrientos. God really did a work of restoring fathers in the home. Lately, it seems that God has really been leading me to minister to fathers and exhort them to lay hands and pray for their wife/children, and to take a stand of holiness in their home. Fathers must be the priest of their home!
We had the honor of attending an ACPE round table meeting of prophetic leaders in America, as well. I was able to share my heart on the pentecostal decline in America and receive a fresh touch from God. It was a great joy for me and Trisha to receive prayer from such wonderful and respected people.
I am excited about the month of December, and my wheels are already spinning for all that is to come next year. I am working on the logistics for hosting a meeting specifically for evangelists around America next year. I want to have an “evangelist workshop” because we need more “equipping” evangelists out in the churches leading outreaches and teaching the body of Christ how to be more effective in winning souls. I will have more details to share with you later next year.
Well, are you excited about Christmas!?! This is my favorite time of the year. I pray that you will enjoy every moment of the Christmas season. Just as a reminder, you can still sow an end-of-year donation and will receive tax-giving credit as long as your envelope is post-marked by December 31st.
From Trisha, myself, and the whole Joe Oden Ministries team, we want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Thank you again for all of your prayer and support! Words cannot express the gratitude of our hearts by all of your love and generosity throughout 2011. As I have said before, it truly takes teamwork to make the dream work!
Together in the harvest,
Joe Oden
